Saturday will be the second Highlands County Teaparty. The event will be on the Circle in downtown Sebring from 1-3pm.

  "We will have a number of speakers as well as musical entertainment," said organizer Mary Bengtson.

  Keynote speaker for the event will be Robin Stublen of Teaparty Patriots. Stublen has been in Highlands County once before, speaking to a packed room at the monthly session of the Highlands County Voters League.

   Also on the agenda will be former Avon Park Mayor Tom Macklin. It was Macklin who made national headlines when he introduced the Illegal Immigra Relint Relief Act. The measure would have penalized local businesses who knowingly hired illegal aliens, landlords who knowlingly rented to illegals and would have made English the official language of all municipal business.

  Other speakers will include Mike Barry who will honor our veterans, Rev. Richared Norris who will talk about First Amendment Rights, playright Bill Farmer who will give information on the Founding Fathers, and local talk show host Barry Foster from AM730 WWTK who will address his remarks to the "Fairness Doctrine" and efforts to limit on-air radio opinion.

  A slate of entertainment also will be offered. Locally, the best-known performer will be Rebekah Faith, who is preparing to debut her new DVD. Coming from Frostproof will be Doug Gandy, who aslo has recorded a number of Christian and country songs.

  "We also have been informed that the Rivioli Revue, who's song 'Press One for English' has been burning up YouTube for several months," Bengtson said. "We have been getting hits from all over the state about this Teaparty and we are delighted to have them as well as Robin Stublen as part of it.

  Master of Ceremonies will be local celebrity Don Elwell. He will have a long day, serving first at the Teaparty, then later on the Circle overseeing the events of the 2009 Heartland Idol Finale.
