It's becoming increasingly clear that Americans aren't simply in the midst of hard times. They are in the midst of one of the most volatile political environments since World War II. The immediate cause of this volatility is clear enough to see. Just a few months ago, there was a chance that an improving economy and progress in the war in Afghanistan might calm national nerves and return the political world to a more normal setting before November's midterm elections. It's becoming clear that the November elections will be held in one of the most volatile political environments since World War II. While one of our own "founding fathers" of the Highlands Teaparty is campaigning for Highlands County commission, nationwide, there seems to be yet another dirty tricks campaign to try and discredit our movement. In New Jersey, a "Tea Party" candidate surfaces but local activists haven't heard of him. In Michigan, a Democratic operative appears closely tied to a slate of candidates running under the Tea Party banner. In Florida, conservative activists are locked in court over the right to use the Tea Party name. The list of peculiar Tea Party happenings goes on and on. |

Want to hear an old guy babble on radio? This is your chance!
As many of you know, I have become active in teaching the foundations of our Constitution, and the history of the freedoms that we still enjoy. About a month ago, I had the opportunity to begin talk on a local talk show, The Dave McCoy Show, about this effort. My good friend, Lester Lob, joins me in this effort. This coming week will be our 4th week in this effort.
This coming Tuesday, at 3 PM CDT on WFHT, AM 1390 in Avon Park, FL, I will be talking about Principles of Freedom. This time slot has been set aside for the Highlands Tea Party, and we are concentrating on this effort as well as other educational efforts about America. I ask for special prayer that I might be able to speak the truth, that I will speak with clarity and wisdom, and that I will have the strength and endurance for such an effort.
